Summer's Almost Here!

Yay! I have been so busy with finals, tennis, jumping, running and flexed arm hanging that summer has rolled around before I knew it! Yesterday was exciting and exhausting. In the morning, I had the Local Meet of Hershey's Track and Field Games to attend. Last year, I got to the State Meet in the 11-12 age group. This year, I'm in the 13-14 age group so I knew it was going to be much more of a challenge, especially since I hadn't been practicing much! On Friday, we practiced in the yard, landing jumps of only 7'3''! The local meet proved to be on my side when my first jump measured in at 8 feet! Wowzers! A nice gold medal and a ticket to District Meet for me! I was also competing in the 200 meter, but since I had only run it 2 times before, I wasn't excepting anything great. My time was 30.1 seconds, only granting me a silver medal, but that's fine with me. It's still my personal best.
We came back yesterday and took Doany, the cat that had invited herself into our house for 2 weeks, to PAWS. I didn't go, because I didn't want to cry and because I was exhausted. Doany will be going to a nice foster home until she is ready for adoption, and we will be notified of any news.
Then to a 4 hour school's out party and back home again for me. No wonder I slept in!
Today I have a tennis match at 1 pm. Don't really know if I'm playing singles today, but I hope so.
Been practicing flexed arm hanging for Jubilee Day. Hopefully I can hang for 70 seconds and win a T-shirt that says "Pain is weakness leaving the body". Wouldn't that be fun to wear around!?!
What are you looking forward to this summer? I really want to go to Hersheypark. I'm not a huge roller coaster dare devil, but I hope to go to the Boardwalk and relax on Intercoastal Waterway, and a few rides on the Great Bear would be fun, too!
